What would you do if you saw Bigfoot? For-real, life-sized Bigfoot watching you from the woods?

Would you be skeptical? Would you be afraid? Would you stop and take a picture?

Today, we bring you Sarah Sax’s short story, “I Saw Bigfoot Today, Darling,” a widow’s love letter to her deceased husband after seeing Bigfoot in the forest.

Sarah wrote her story as part of The Company’s 2025 Spring Writing Challenge.

Let’s dive in.

Sarah Sax is a first-year student at The Company. She writes a variety of genres and styles but specializes in sci-fi/fantasy and poetry. Her hobbies include drinking chai, collecting pins, obsessing over a growing number of fandoms, and dancing to worship music late at night.

Noah J. Matthews (the host) is an author, an editor, and a worshipper. He’s nominally left the Wolverines behind since moving to Ohio, and his fantasy western novella, Outlaw Blood, has both delighted readers and left them scratching their heads.

So sit back, grab a mug and your thinking cap, and listen to a curiously beautiful piece of Kingdom literature.
