About The Abalone: Volume 1
When’s the last time you took a minute to breathe, and turn your eye off the world’s troubles and onto what is good? When’s the last time you found wonder in something unordinary, or found beauty in hardship?
The world around us is full of wonder.
There is beauty found in benign interruptions, wonder in childhood simplicity, and praise at the end of tragic situations. This beauty deserves to be seen—to be shown, pondered, appreciated.
The Abalone, Vol. 1 features a collection of eleven creative nonfiction stories, each teeming with original artwork–a kaleidoscope depicting many of the ways we see God move.
Each section is inspired by a piece of Philippians 4:8, “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.”
Eight biblical virtues. Eleven stories. Eleven authors.
Vol. 1 of The Abalone focuses on the good things, even if they don’t seem good at first. Mothers, fathers, laughter, breath-taking awe—human experiences, experienced by real humans. We believe that God’s goodness can be found even in the darkest times. On our best days or on our worst; from the heights of nature to the depths of the human mind.
This print magazine is a limited edition. At this time, it is slated for a single print run. Secure a copy while you can, and forever hold this work of art in your hands.
Let us shine a spotlight into your little corner of the world, highlighting God’s Kingdom on earth from the mundane to the extraordinary. It’s time to look to the light, not the present darkness.
