Since The Pearl staff is mostly comprised of apprentices at The Company, we will be taking a two-week break before resuming in September.
If you love reading, take the opportunity to revisit some of the oldies on the site. Here are a couple highlights from the past year:
- Holes Deep Enough for Our Sins by S.D. Bullard is a moving piece of literary fiction about ends and means
- In the Desert by Douglas Campbell is a poem about hope
- How to Third-Wheel Like a Pro by Vella Karman is an essay about the “right” way to third-wheel
In honor of Alli Prince, our copyeditor, I’d also like to mention her short story Nothingness. It’s a wonderful piece that gets your brain working and your spine shivering. Get more great stuff from Alli and support her as she moves on as a professional writer on her website, AlliPrince.com!
It’s been a great year for The Pearl, and I can’t wait to see what’s next.
If you’re into writing, consider submitting for publication here! We love checking out new stories!
Thank you all for following this magazine! We can’t wait to bring more stories to the light–for entertainment, and for the objectives of the Kingdom.
See you all in September!
